- Operation Tobacco-Free Nevada and Tobacco-Free Babies are projects of the American Cancer Society's Nevada Tobacco Prevention Coalition. These initiatives are supported through a grant from the Fund for a Healthy Nevada. These funds result from proceeds of the Master Settlement Agreement between various States and the tobacco industry to compensate for the costs of tobacco-related healthcare problems.
- This program was developed by Dr. Sher Todd in cooperation with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the March of Dimes.
- The methods of the program have been extensively piloted as the Tobacco-Free Babies Project at The Pregnancy Center, Renown Health in Reno.
- The program is administratively managed through the Nevada Tobacco Prevention Coalition which functions under the umbrella of the American Cancer Society
